Summer just won’t quit!

Well, summer just will not quit this year!  Yesterday Mark planned a ride that turned out to be quite excellent.  We took a wrong turn but it turned out to be good because we found a very excellent road.  556 was very recently repaved and all I can say is WOW!  It is going to rank in my top 10. When I realized we were going to be near Sistersville I talked Mark into running down there and taking the Sistersville Ferry across the river.  This ride was worthy of pictures, so click here to see pictures of the ride.  I took a exciting video of the ferry ride - click here to see it!

Sudden curve on the Blue Ridge Parkway

It has been a while since I last updated!  There have been a few rides, but I did not take any pictures on any of them.  I took a ride down 164 a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty nice.  Last weekend Jim and I went down to West Virginia and rode US250.  I really do love that road, it is pretty hard to beat.  The next day Skidplate and I rode down and we visited Wheeling and checked out the casino, Cabelas, and rode around checking out the Christmas lights at the park.

I only had one regret in my trips to the Blue Ridge Parkway:  I never got a picture of the “Sudden Curve” sign.  Yesterday I searched for it on the internet and found a picture a guy had taken of this sign!  Click here to see it!  I think the sign is supposed to scare you into slowing down, but we just thought it was too funny!  I found the picture at this website.  It was kind of funny looking at his parkway pictures because it was just like looking at mine, but with different people in them!
